Newton only saw the apple fall from the tree. Hence, his theory of gravity was detached and not personal. Here’s your chance to do what he never did and experience this 9.8m/s2 force pull you down. Just when you feel like the ground is approaching and you’re definitely going to crash that parachute shall open and slow your descent providing you with the perfect opportunity to spy on the world from above.
Its totally doable! I havent pre booked a journey since 2010, and it works fine. I've never had any problems finding accommodation or company. I've travelled in peak season and off-season.
A few tips: For Accommodation - Chaweng Beach is the best to stay at in Koh Samui (action packed, resourceful). Sukhmvit is possibly a great place to stay in Bangkok. For tours, activities and internal travel - getting last minute bookings is not a problem at all.
Hey Archie, December is usually peak season in Thailand. This means - tourists pre book, higher rates. So while there are better months in the year to travel without prior bookings, you can still be able to manage.
I have always travel with pre bookings done. This time I want to travel like a backpacker - with just one backpack and no prior bookings done.. Planning Thailand (Bangkok and Koh Samui) this December. Any tips on whether this is doable given the season?
looking forward to experience this ;)

Hello. Does anyone want to have a chat about this? :) Thougts about it if you have any, dreams maybe :)
haha.. you mean without planning ahead? Or without tickets?
Great hearing your road trip stories! How easy is it to take a road trip for someone who's new to India? Keeping in mind traffic rules..
On Saturday had a road trip to Pune from Mumbai...on Pune -Mumbai expressway,...lonavala,khandala...enjoyed car drive
@Pankaj Glad I could help :D
@VaisakhiMishra I did the road trip and it was magnificent! Just had a week but there couldn't have been a better way to ring in a new year. Drove through the coast and surprisingly Goa was not such a highlight! Some other tiny beaches along the way stunned me. Thank you!
@VaisakhiMishra - Thank yous so much! This is very useful, really appreciate. I think I will take the coastal route as well. But it's good to know that there are many options to detour even if one takes the madurai route!
@Pankaj M - Hi! though I haven't done a road trip from Mumbai to Trivandrum I know a friend who had done it 6 years back. There are 2 ways Bombay-Bangalore-Madurai-Trivandrum (Mostly highway and old towns) or BOmbay-Goa-Gokarna-Mangalore-Kerala(Semi Coastal). If you take the highway path, try and visit Hampi, Madurai, Salem and Kancheepuram which are small detours on that road otherwise the semi coastal track has amazing stop points is scenic almost throughout the journey. He had taken the semi coastal path and had halted at Mangalore Goa Gokarna and Bangalore due to which the trip took him 13 days on bike. But the timeline totally depends an how much halt you want to take. Also the roads get pretty bad in certain patches and the highway past Mangalore has some serious harking issues right till Trivandrum....Hope this helps. :)
Hello, I am planning a road trip (self drive) with some friends from Mumbai to Trivandrum. Any tips? How many days should we factor for a comfortable drive? Any mandatory stops that we should not miss?
I plan to go on a road trip between 10th Nov to 15th Nov 2015 covering Ahmedabad to neighboring place(s).
