Scuba diving in Havelock Island, Andaman and Nicobar

Located at the east side of Andaman and Nicobar, Havelock Islands is one of the most sought after scuba diving sites in India. Naturally ornamental beaches and an amazingly diverse marine life, makes the experience wonderful both underwater and on the beaches. The diving spot at Havelock Islands in called ‘The Wall’. The drift is 10 meters deep, falling between Havelock and Peel islands, exposing you to the beautiful purple coral that covers the entire length of The Wall. Underwater habitat consists of shark and scorpion fish, napolean wrasse, to name a few, along with a diverse variety of corals which offers a breathtaking view. The quickest and easiest way to reach Havelock Island is by taking a ferry from Port Blair. Scuba diving in Grand Islands, Goa

If you though that the fun, laid back life on beaches with a beer in hand is all that Goa has to offer, you will be surprised. Scuba Diving is one of the most exciting water sport you can try out in Goa. Situated near South Goa, Grand Islands is probably the only place in India that offers an open sea dive for enthused divers. Pondicherry offers not one but many scuba diving spots. It is a heaven for those who want to explore a wide range of diving spots and marine life. Manta Rays is quiet a frequent site in the Pondicherry waters, along with other fishes like the lion fish, king fish, moray eels and a wide variety of corals. Some of these diving spots include Coral Shark Reef, The Hole, Temple Reef and 4 Corners. Tips for Scuba Diving

As with any adventure sport, safety comes first!

  • You must not ignore the lessons given by the instructors. Those simple signs and hand gestures will enable communication underwater and keep you at ease.
  • Enjoy the sight of fish and corals from a distance and avoid touching them unless and until your instructor allows you to. Some of these animal stings might be poisonous. If you do not bother them, they will not harm you. Observe from a distance and do not obstruct the path of animals.
  • Do not disturb the natural habitat underwater. Be considerate to environment, in your excitement do not lean or touch corals that you are not supposed to.
  • Practice diving before taking a plunge in the ocean, it will assist you in a better and safe experience. Most good schools will follow this practice.

Lacadives for Scuba Diving

Lacadives, set up for the first time in 1995 at Kadmat in Lakshwadeep Island, has now expanded to Bangarram Islands and Agatti Islands. It also has training centers in Mumbai and the Andamans (Havelock Island and Wandoor) .
